My heart is full of gratitude to you Hawai‘i. I am especially grateful for your kind words and congratulatory messages. I hope to make you proud, especially my hometown of Moloka‘i. My late father, a Moloka‘i homesteader, who is a military veteran and buried at the Moloka‘i veterans cemetery, would be very proud of my endeavors to be of service to our Hawaiian community. All praise and glory goes to Ke Akua.

The Pink Wave

ALOHA PINK FRIDAY! Let’s raise awareness for Breast Cancer and honor our survivors: My sisters, my best friend, several of my former Mrs Hawaii’s and many more who I know suffered from this disease. Mahalo for your support!

My Home

Here’s a quick tour of my late father Stanley Alapa’s Ho‘olehua Ag lot! My sisters and I come from divorced parents so we’d travel back & forth - Laie & Moloka‘i - from the mid 1970’s.

I will work hard to develop my father’s master blue prints of his beautiful property to include a Hawaiian Cultural center, a Café - farm to table of fresh grown fruits, vegetables - a healing garden featuring Hawaiian medicinal herbs, a country store, he wanted to ensure his Ag lot was self-sustaining - develop our own water catchment system, solar panels generate own electricity, etc. This is MY HOME now - a place where I will live til my last days on earth and to see to it that my father’s blue prints become a REALITY! This is for you Dad!

Change… we must.

Remember who we are serving.

Aloha Kakou!
I am Luana Alapa, a Native Hawaiian and proud homesteader of an agricultural lot in Ho‘olehua, Molokai.

It has been my honor to serve you, the people of Hawai‘i and Moloka‘i, in various capacities throughout the years. During my tenure as Miss Hawaii beginning in 1987, I gained a deeper understanding of the unique contribution I can make to the cultural and economic life of our great land. Now, after much soul searching and prayer, and with the support of my family, it is with great joy that I announce my candidacy for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) Trustee - Moloka‘i.

If I am elected to be a fiduciary of the trust, my mission will be to work tirelessly to grow the trust and to expand the scope with which it serves its Native Hawaiian beneficiaries.  The goal of raising and sustaining the highest quality of life of the Hawaiian people will be my ultimate mission.

All Hawai‘i can vote in OHA.

Vote:  ALAPA, LUANA for  Moloka‘i Resident Trustee

This will be accomplished by instituting a vigorous and thorough management of several important areas of responsibility within the purview of the trust:

  • Greater care of OHA’s assets

  • Accountability and transparency of funds – This is an area that must be addressed in order for us to achieve our goals.  In order for OHA to function at the highest level, the Board of Trustees must work in harmony with each other.

  • A guiding principle of selfless service to others is one important way in which our Hawaiian values can enhance and improve the conditions of Native Hawaiians. With this goal in mind, it would be an honor for me to serve as your OHA Moloka‘i Trustee.

Together, we can make change. VOTE. I humbly ask for your vote on November 3, 2020.

If you need to register to vote, please do so by Oct 5, 2020. Click Here.
